Fastpitch Softball Batting Helmet Buyer's Guide

A batting helmet is the best possible form of protection for your head while playing softball. It will not only protect your head, but the facemask will also help protect your face. We have seen what can happen out there and it's not pretty.

Basic Features of Fastpitch Softball Batting Helmets

We carry Easton helmets and they are the same ones used in both the Little League World Series and the College World Series.Features include:

Helmet Sizes

The different sizes include junior, senior, XL, or one size fits most.Easton helmets come in three sizes:

Junior 6-1/2" to 7-1/8"

Senior 7-1/8" to 7-1/2"

XL 7-1/2" to 8"

With girls, we have generally found that because of their hair, the senior helmets fit most of them. It takes a small girl to get into a junior helmet. If you feel like they are between sizes, Easton makes extra padding called a fit kit.

Choosing the Right Softball Helmet

It can seem complicated so we've decided to make it really simple. Good Softball Helmets

These helmets are great for first-year or rec players that are maybe only playing weekends and just need something to get by. It is the shiny style and does not have the grip finish to it, but the inside is the same as the "better" level helmets, so it protects you just as well. The mask does not come attached.

Better Softball Helmets

These helmets have the same inside as the shiny series and will fit a range 6-5/8" to 7-3/4." The mask does come attached.

Best Softball Helmets

These helmets are for your serious travel ball, high school, or club team player. The inside of these is different with a new BioDri fabric liner. A lot of teams like to match, and as the saying goes, "Look good, feel good, and you will play good." The mask does come attached and will match the helmet -- if the helmet is red it will have a red mask. The Ghost matte helmet comes in two sizes: S/M is 6-5/8" to 7-1/4" and M/L is 7-1/8" to 7-3/4."

Customize Your Helmet Colors

Suppose your team has the same green and orange colors as the Miami Hurricanes. Easton doesn't make that combination, but we sell decals to make that combo possible!
