MAD MAX says:
The Velo was seen on almost every high school field in 2018. This bat became insanely popular and has really put Rawlings bats on the map in recent years. This bat is an alloy bat with a composite end cap. This is a revolutionary design in that it is a great option for anyone wanting the durability, sound, and feel of an alloy bat, but with the added benefit of a composite end cap. The composite end cap in this bat makes it swing lighter which helps players generate more bat speed. The 2018 Velo was a favorite among many players and has already proved itself in terms of durability and performance. This bat is an amazing option for any player looking for a premium bat at an amazing price.
NOTE: As of Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, this bat does not meet NCAA Baseball playing rules.
This bat does not meet NCAA Baseball playing rule, Rule 1.12.b.7, requiring that the baseball bat barrel color between the 18-inch mark and the end cap (the hitting area) must be a color(s) that is predominantly contrasting to the color of the baseball.

Rawlings Velo Hybrid 2-5/8" BBCOR Bat BB8V3 -3oz (2018)
BBCOR Certified Baseball Bat
The BBCOR formula provides a better measure of the bat's performance and therefore allows the rules committee and bat testing laboratories to better predict field performance based on lab tests. The goal is that non-wood bats that meet this new standard will perform similarly to wood bats. All BBCOR bats will incorporate a logo mark once certification approval is granted. This mark will be consistent across every approved bat design so umpires will easily identify approved bats.
